KISMET’S JULY 4TH PARADE-early in the morning on Sunday the sound of staple guns and
hammers dotted the landscape and frantic parents prepared their floats and
formerly happy tots had that deer-in-the-headlights look as a crowd of well
wishing onlookers cheered them on and parents screamed “smile for the judges”. Paradoz Bob Phillips mom, 85 year old Helen,
was a WAVE (WWII veteran) who participated in the parade. The visiting bands
strutted their stuff and stuffed themselves later on dogs, clams, burgers and
beer, the KFD hawked their shirts and paraphernalia, and general tri-colored
facts: -parade grew from 15 (08) to 22 floats this year
