Take the A Train to The Pines
The New York City Gay Men's Chorus presents a special benefit performance of Take the A Train: The Music of Billy Strayhorn on June 30 at the new Whyte Hall Community Center in Fire Island Pines. The concert features all new arrangements of Strayhorn's music by Grammy Award winner Alan Broadbent and will be under the direction of guest conductor Kip Bonsignore.
Hosted by NYCGMC devotees Dan Lanning and Dylan Ftera, Harvey Alter, Tom Cunningham, and Mark Schrader, the evening will feature an 8:00PM performance followed by a fabulous barbeque at the home of Richard Vayda and Chris Niebel at 627 Tuna Walk. A 6:00PM performance is also scheduled. Tickets are $90 for the 6PM concert and $175 for the 8PM concert and post-show party.
